WOODSY OWL
“Give a hoot, and don’t pollute!”
Woodsy Owl has become a famous environmental American icon, and he was created in 1970. He is a cute and colorful character who is recognized whereever he travels.Woodsy Owl works to instruct young children about the importance of being environmentally friendly. He flies all across America and promotes activities and programs that guide children on ways that they can help protect and clean up the environment. It is no secret that the great American land is highly filled with different pollutions. You can find garbage strewn in a multitude of public parks, in alleyways and on the streets. People just don’t seem to care about what they do with their garbage. Many seem to walk around with the attitude that the garbage will just magically disappear. Children observe this adult conduct and will follow what they see; but with Woodsy Owl, they can learn a better way to see and preserve the environments they live in.
Woodsy Owl offers children many ways that they can reduce their garbage, recycle and think responsibly about the waste that is produced. Children learn ways that they can conveniently camp without producing too much garbage. They are taught the harmful affects that pollution has in forests, and how it can be a danger to the various animals that inhabit forests.
