South Park
Bigger Badder Better
Trey Parker and Matt Stone
Trey Parker was originally a music student at Boston's famed Berklee School of Music before he transferred back to his home turf to study film at the University of Colorado. While there he produced, directed, wrote and starred in a musical dubbed, "Cannibal: The Musical". This is when he met Matt Stone who was a collaborator on the project. The two bonded for the fact, they both had grown up in South Park, Colorado.
Cannibal: The Musical
Inspired by a so-called true event, Cannibal: The Musical tells the tale of Alfred Packer and his ill-fated friends during an expedition during the old west in snow-covered Colorado. The gang was headed over the Rockies in search of gold and love when they became snowed-in, with out food or provisions, they were forced to desperate measures, including toe-tapping songs.
South Park Turnaround
If you ever wondered how in the sam hill, an animated episode can address current affairs, well then here is your answer. You see it takes months to turn out a given episode of a show like the Simpsons, so they can't really weave in current media and news info into their storylines, but those crazy folks over at South Park can turn out a completed episode in as little as six days from start to airtime. Each episode these days is now created on Apple's lightning quick G5 computers. That's some crazy sheet.
Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants
The episode "Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants" aired just a few weeks after September 11th, making it one of the first fictional series to address the issue. "It's Christmas in Canada" depicted the capture of Saddam Hussein just four days after it actually happened.
Raisins
In the Raisins episode of South Park, Wendy breaks up with Stan because he doesn't know how to spend any time with her. He's heart broken, so to cheer him up the boys take him out to "Raisins", a local restaurant known for it's cheap food and hot girls. This just makes Stan depressed and he desperately attempts to win back Wendy's affection. Meanwhile, Butters believes he has found the girl of his dreams. Sounds like fourth grade to me.
Casa Bonita
Cartman commits fraud to gain entrance to a well-established Denver family restaurant named, Casa Bonita. It's a real place, famed for it's theatrics and a menu from the restaurant hangs framed in the South Park studios.

Spirit of Christmas
It all started back in December 1995. Brain Graden, a Fox TV exec had a taste for edgy material and wanted to send out a video holiday card. But what to send? He had come across a very demented little videotaped fable named, "The Spirit of Christmas" which was animated by a couple down and out twentysomethings using construction paper and sick jokes. He loved it and hired the two to make an updated, slicker version of their Santa Claus vs Jesus kung-fu battle. The tape went out all over Hollywood. George Clooney was an instant fan and made 150 copies of the tape for his friends and family. Bootlegs of the tape spread across the land and soon the two mysterious creators were offered a deal of a lifetime. Were they smart enough to take it? You bet your ascot, they were. Two and half years later, South Park premiered on Comedy Central.
Chef
The character of Chef is based on an actual dining hall worker at the University of Colorado. Mr. Garrison, on the other hand, is based on William Lloyd Garrison.
Chewie
Chewbacca has a running theme in the series. Every Halloween episode has at least one kid dressing as Chewbacca and usually wins the costume contest. Also, "the Chewbacca Defense" is always used by Jonnie Cochran.
Stardom
Trey Parker and Matt Stone went from nowhere to everywhere in whiplash smile, before long they were turning down deals from every major studio in town. They were swamped, but they were also being offered things they couldn't have done, like "Barney: The Movie" What were those guys thinking Barney could have turned into a real life version of Smoochy The Rhino.
