DEFTONES
The band that delivers music with original feverish sound. Listening to the Deftones is more than just for musical pleasure; it’s for musical experience.
The Deftones is a Sacramento, California band that is composed of five members: Chino Moreno (lead vocals, guitar), Stephen Carpenter (strings), Chi Cheng (bass), Abe Cunningham (drummer), and Frank Delgado (turntables). Their debut album Adrenaline, released in 1995, sold over 200,000 copies and featured the smashing classic – “7 Words”. The success of this album created 13 months of touring with great bands like, Korn and White Zombie.
There second album Around The Fur (released in 1997), proved to be an even greater success. The melodic music not only had the dexterity like the first, but was accompanied by hair raising lyrics. Chino wrote all of the lyrics from a personal stand point. He wanted to delve into the realm of the dirty world that fascinated him. The world that wasn’t so fit for a king, but for his forgotten subjects.
The release of their third album, White Pony, in 2000 has been the bands greatest success to date. The hypnotic vibe of the music was enough to give the Deftones the musical respect they deserved. Many of their songs have been featured in such films as The Crow: City of Angels, Escape from L.A., and Queen of the Damned.
Having released their fourth and self-titled album in 2003, the band continues on its relentless crusade to show the world of music what talent and originality is all about.
